University of Cambridge, founded in the 13th century, is with Oxford one of the two oldest and most distinguished universities in England. Located approximately 50 miles Northeast of London, Cambridge University is a federation of 31 largely autonomous colleges whose grounds occupy most of the city within a large loop on the River Cam. One of the richest and most noble cities architecturally of any in Europe, Cambridge's grounds and gardens stretching to the river provide secret retreats and courtyards, surrounded by wide commons and parks. For those who are fortunate to study at Cambridge, one can experience learning of a lifetime, study with world class scholars, benefit from the British tutorial system, and enter into a truly remarkable adventure in ennobling learning. Erasmus, as well as renown clergy such as Thomas Cranmer and John Harvard, founder of Harvard University, studied at Cambridge, plus a seemingly endless list of international notables, including: three signatories of the American Declaration of Independence, and John Milton, William Harvey, Richard Bentley, Wordsworth, Lord Byron, Tennyson, Charles Darwin, T. B. Macaulay, Emily Davis, Bertrand Russell, Nehru, Eric Milner-White, Michael Redgrave, John Maynard Keynes, Nobel Prize laureates, and many more. There are two Summer Sessions, the first of three weeks and the second of two weeks from which to choose. There are two approaches to study: (1) one of concentrated study in two to three subject areas, or (2) another of a broad diversity of subject matters, depending upon one's interests. Recently added are three-week concentrations of study in numerous subject matters. For Cambridge Semester and Academic Year, please contact us. ________________________________________________ |
